We have long been of the view that professional Financial Planners should be highly qualified in line with the requirements of other professions such as legal and accountancy. Many advisers argue that experience is the key, but we feel we owe it to our clients to have as much knowledge and expertise as possible in addition to many years’ experience. With this combination we believe we can truly say that we deliver a market-leading, first class service.

The most basic qualification held by authorised financial advisers is the Diploma in Financial Planning (DipPFS), at QCA level 4 in the National Qualifications Framework. These advisers can call themselves ‘fully qualified” but we do not believe that this is adequate. Directors Tony Conner & Gemma Siddle (pictured) as well as financial planners Jon Bean and Neale Cooke are already at level 6, being Chartered Financial Planners and Fellows of the Personal Finance Society (FPFS). Gemma was an individual national award winner in 2012.

In addition Tony & Gemma are Chartered Wealth Managers and hold the internationally recognised Certified Financial Planner licence (CFPCM). Gemma was a national award winner within the Financial Planning arm of what is now the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments (CISI) in 2013. Tony is also a Chartered Accountant; a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA).

We believe we stand out because all of our Financial Planners are qualified to this level.

And there’s more…..

We are very proud that Eldon was one of the first to be awarded Corporate Chartered Financial Planner status by the Chartered Insurance Institute, a designation as yet achieved by very few Independent Financial Advisory firms, with just a handful in the North of England.

Eldon Financial Planning also won the national award of “Chartered Financial Planners of the Year” in 2011. Click to go to the Chartered Financial Planner website

Also, in 2011 we were one of the first 25 firms in the UK to be awarded Accredited Financial Planning Firm status by the Institute of Financial Planning (now the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments), an internationally recognised professional body.

We keep up to date with a robust continuing professional development (CPD) regime and constantly take note of information coming from the FCA (our regulator), HMRC, HM Government and our professional bodies and peers.
