I graduated from Newcastle University in 2006 with a degree in politics and history. I hadn’t considered a career in financial services when I began working for Eldon in an administrative role, however I quickly gained an enthusiasm for Eldon’s service and the relationship with clients and I commenced the development of my knowledge and skills, whilst at the same time studying for our professional qualifications.
Over time, I moved into a technical planning role and, continuing with formal examinations, became a Chartered Financial Planner; the benchmark for professional in financial planning. In 2017 I became a Fellow of The Personal Finance Society; the current highest designation.
Increasingly my focus is on face- to-face contact with our clients both established and new. I enjoy helping people to achieve financial security and a comfortable retirement at their chosen dates. I am particularly looking forward to working with Joss’s clients now that she has retired from her advisory role. Many of these clients have had a relationship with Joss and Eldon that goes back well over two decades.
Outside of work my time is spent with wife Emma, daughter Emily and son William. I enjoy gardening, fishing, walking and reading. I also maintain an interest in social and military history and am active in my community, fundraising for both local and far flung projects.
