Having completed a degree in computer science at Sunderland University in 2003 I settled into a management role in the leisure and entertainment industry. I joined Eldon in 2009 as a member of the small administration team and used my extensive IT knowledge to enhance and build upon the technology that Eldon was using. I was offered a full time role to oversee the delivery of a first class financial planning and investment service to our clients using the latest technology. Seven years ago IT for financial planning firms was still a fledgling market. We have kept ourselves at the forefront of the profession by being early adopters of change where it has a benefit to our clients. Our software systems are now integrated and sophisticated. Eldon is a ‘paperless’ office.
My current role is as Operations Manager, managing the administration team, supporting the financial planners and paraplanners, and ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the business. No two days are the same for me, which suits me as I welcome variety and a challenge.
Outside of work I have a wife Kate and children Ellie and Jack. I enjoy designing software in my spare time for the both the leisure industry and for local authorities to implement in schools.
2017 is the year I got myself fit, running the Great North Run in September.
